vogue
vogue πΊπΆ
vogue is a contagious rhythm game mixed with puzzle solving. you need to follow the beat and make everybody dance to the music.
once you join another dancer, their last move will be added to your musical pattern, so after every 4 beats their move will take over. with each new member comes a new fixed move, so planning on the go will be essential.
there is also a scoring system based on how quickly you complete the level, so lower is better. however, please, this is a chill game to relax! no pressure at all. you can, if you wish, hide the score completely.
edit: i had an issue with the web port β οΈ, if you click away from the game, the input stops working, and you need to recharge the page. so sorry!
vogue was made in a weekend for the GMTK 2021 game jam! it was my first jam and honestly it was such a good time. hope you enjoy the game!

known bugs π
as with every game made in 48 hours, vogue had a fair amount of bugs that need fixing. thank you so much for all the feedback, we are really grateful π₯°
- in the web port, i forgot to make the html canvas selectable, so if you click elsewhere and then return to the game, the inputs won't work.
- by trying to make the game more forgiving and allow you to move even if you didn't hit the beat perfectly, i introduced a bug where if you move in one direction and then stop, it sometimes moves you two times in that direction.
- the dancers always move before the player, but that is not really shown clearly, so it can be confusing why you get that direction. adding more feedback, visual confirmation and explaining the mechanics better is something i want to tackle.
sorry for any inconveniences, and thank you so much for playing the game! you are awesome :D

how do i use cheats
any plans on creating a speedrun community?
Clever concept! Is there any way to predict what direction a new dancer will add to the pattern?
Yes! It adds the last direction they go in, and they always follow a pattern so you can predict where they will go next. Thank you so much for playing! :D
nice
Amazing visuals and sound. The concept is super interesting too, I did get stuck in a few levels, but that's when the game made sense to me, it's kinda like a puzzle game that takes a bit to unveil itself. Amazing idea, congratulations!
really unique concept, it is so fun to play! it would be great to have more levels. keep up the good work.
